RESEARCH INTEREST

My primary research interest is on aquatic animal physiology by examining their interactions with environment at all levels, from molecular to ecological, especially in captive culture conditions. Particularly, I focus on the feeding, climate change issue, sub-lethal effects of natural factors (biotic & abiotic) and anthropogenic pollutants on organismal functionality, adaptability, feeding, metabolic strategies, reproductive and growth performances by which animals confront to the changing environments both in captive and wild conditions. Projects at present emphasize on breeding, feeding, energy budget, metabolic strategy, hormonal balancing, osmorespiration, ionoregulatory and the kinetics electrolyte transporter or co-transporter of aquatic organisms challenge to different stressors as model to understand their adaptability and/or evolutionary in order to establish a sustainable good aquaculture practice and fisheries welfare management towards future food security. In addition, my personal research interest/hobby is to look into the living aquatic jewellery (ornamental species), especially the reef fishes on their interpersonal social interaction, feeding, reproductive behaviour, reproductive performance and their adaptability to environmental change.
