Nora’aini Ali is Professor at the Faculty of Ocean Engineering Technology & Informatic, UMT. She obtained her PhD in Chemical Enginering in 2003 from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, MSc in Polymer Science & Technology form UMIST, UK and B.Eng Chemical from UTM. Her recent research work focuses on the application of membrane in water and wastewater treatment and bio separation, intergration of membrane technology with other techniques, process modelling and application, adsorption materials as well as biomass waste management. She has actively participated in scientific  research with various project funded from internally and goverment bodies. Her capability in carrying quality research work of international standards has been further supported by the publication of over 60 journal articles in refereed journal, mostly in indexed-journals with impact factors such as Journal of Bio resource Technology, Journal of Chemical Technology and Biotechnolgy, Separation and Purification Technology, Journal of Desalination, Journal of and water treatment and conference proceedings. Her present research focuses on nutrients removal, green wastewater treatment technology and Environmental modelling using Life Cycle Assessment.
